Thankful

Here in the U.S, it’s the season for gratitude with Thanksgiving only a week away.  Our table won’t look quite like the one above, but there will be lots of good food on it, and good company around it.  I have a lot to be thankful for next week, aside from the usuals of family, health, a roof over our heads, and the food on the table.

Earlier this month, I got my first peek at the RT Book Reviews Magazine review of Hunting Medusa.  I knew they had it, because it was mentioned in the previews for January a couple of months ago, so I’ve been nervous, hoping the reviewer who wound up with it wouldn’t hate it.  She didn’t, which was a huge relief to me.  If you’re curious, you can check it out, too, here.  Now I can go back to counting down days until the trade paperback release ( 46, in case anybody else is counting down) while I continue to work on the rewrites of Protecting Medusa.  And by rewrites, I mean shredding and rearranging of the whole thing.

I also discovered that my publisher has listed the paperback on my book’s page in their store, with a pre-order date of December 7.  That’s exciting, because it means not only can all the ebook readers have my book, but the ones who prefer a physical book in their hands will have the 0pportunity pretty soon, too.  Plus I can hold it myself, which is thrilling, and something I’ve dreamed of for many years.

In the same span of two days, I also received an invitation to do an interview, which you may have already checked out via my last blog post last week.  I hadn’t even thought about interviews when I’ve been working on promo for the paperback release, and I’m more accustomed to being on the question side, rather than the answer side, from my years as a reviewer.  It was a fun interview to do, and if you haven’t, I hope you’ll check it out.

I’ve also been busy preparing for the paperback release in January.  I’ve lined up guest blogs, picked up goodies for giveaways over on my Facebook page for release day, am working on rounding up some author friends to come play, and I hope you’ll enjoy all of that as well.

Despite the busyness and hectic pace (not even counting the evil day-job!), I am thankful for all of these things this year.  For those of you who have already read Hunting Medusa, and for those of you who’ve been waiting for the paperback.

What are you thankful for in this Thanksgiving season?
