Finally, Winter!

That is very much what my front yard looked like two days ago.  At last!  Here in our neck of the woods, we’ve mostly had just little teases of snow this year–an inch or two here, a dusting there–so I’ve been very disappointed, since we had such a fantastic winter last year.  But Thursday when I headed to my awesome new job for the fourth time, it was already snowing, just lightly, but it was already coating the ground.  By the time I left work Thursday afternoon, there was about 7 or so inches of snow piled on top of my car.  It made me wish I’d brought not just my car scraper into work but a shovel as well, because everything I cleaned off the top of the car piled up on top of all the snow already on the ground, so by the time I was finished, my pants were wet nearly to the knee.  But I really didn’t care, since I finally got my snow!  Unfortunately, by the middle of next week, most, if not all, of it will be melted and gone.  I guess I’ll have to be satisfied with that for this season and hope for better next winter.

I mentioned my new job above.  It is a wonderful thing, with a mostly-set schedule, and I’m not a mush-brain when I leave for the day, even with all the training and new info I’m accumulating.  For the writer-me, that’s fantastic.  Hopefully, for readers, it will also be fantastic, because I’ve reset my goals and now I have a much better shot at reaching them for the rest of the year.  Also at my new job, I have my very own work area, and one thing that will be going in as decor is this:

My shiny new cover art! isn't it pretty?

My shiny new cover art! isn’t it pretty?

I have a perfect spot for a framed copy of my cover art to sit on my desk where I can see it all day long.

And while I’m on the subject of Hunting Medusa, the signing last month was amazing.  Thanks so much to all of you who came out to see us.  I had such a great time, and I hope you’re enjoying the story.

Now, because I’m still working on rewriting the second Medusa story, I think a little snippet of Mena and Ryder…

Some part of her loved that protective, possessive gesture, and that scared her. A lot.

He studied her for a moment, his smile softening. “I need to go find this guy, but I’ll be back later,” he said at last, sliding his thumb along her lower lip.

She ignored the tingling his touch left behind and tried to turn her mush-brain back into a functioning organ. “You don’t expect me to be waiting up, do you?”

His low laugh sent a ripple of heat into her middle again.  “I can find my way.”

Her eyes widened. “Find your way where?”

“Back to you.” He leaned down to kiss her again, hard and fast.

There!  He is so yummy!  Now I need to go finish my household chores so I can spend all day Sunday working on fixing his story and nearing The End.

One more little tease for you:  my awesome web designer is working on a revamp of my website, and it is gorgeous!  I can’t wait to share it with all of you.  I’m fairly certain there will have to be something fun to mark the new site design.  Maybe a little party?  Definitely a giveaway.  I’ll figure all of that out as we get closer to launch.

How’s the weather where you are?  Cold and wintry and perfect for staying inside to read?  I hope you all have a terrific weekend, filled with great books!
