Yes, I just had an 80s flashback as I typed that title. Ha!
But right now, we are just over a day away from Book Release Day for
My shiny new cover art! isn’t it pretty?
I am so excited I can hardly stand it, and I’m not sure how I’m going to get through a 10.5 hour day at the dayjob on Monday. Of course, I highly doubt there will be much sleeping going on Monday night either, because once we hit midnight, it will officially be Book Release Day, and I’ll be ready to celebrate. Heck, I’m ready to celebrate now, and I have to wait a little while longer.
As both a distraction and in keeping with the release day theme, I spent today (in between dinner prep and laundry) working on guest blog posts for Tuesday, and writing. I also just posted a reminder over on my Facebook page about the Release Day Party that will be happening there. I hope some of you will come on over and join me so I don’t spend the day all by my lonesome. That would be much too sad.
I have my dinner planned already for Tuesday, and champagne already in the fridge. The anticipation is awful. And awesome.
I always sort of chuckled when authors talked about sending their ‘baby’ out into the world, but now it’s so close, and I’m so nervous. What if my baby goes out and no one likes it? That would be terrible. I want everyone to like it, even though I know that’s unrealistic. But because I love it, I want the same for it from everybody else. Just like for my actual kids. It sounds kind of deranged now that I read it on my screen. Not that anyone who knows a writer thinks they’re all perfectly sane. We’re all just a bit…quirky. That sounds better than insane, right?
I think it might be time to try to settle my brain for the night–it’s been racing in a hundred different directions all day, between the chores and all the writing-related things I’ve been doing. Otherwise, there won’t be any chance of sleep here, and I definitely want to be fresh and ready on Tuesday for the fun over at the party!
Hope to see you there!
